Ultimate Team Update!

Wow. I certainly have been busy. . . Missed you guys! I've been working pretty hard, and I'm crazily happy with the results! I started off with a pretty decent Brazilian Squad, including Welliton up top at striker, Kaka and Carlos Eduardo as the center attacking mid's, Michel Bastos on the left mid and Rafinha on the right, oscar in the middle, Felipe Luis as left back, Marcelo and David Luis as my center backs, Rafinha as the right back, and Helton as my goalkeeper. 100 Chemistry (Which I can't stress the importance of)! I seriously do enjoy this squad and love playing with it! If you have the funds, I'd recommend a brazilian squad first over anything!

I also built another squad... This one isn't particularly my favorite squad, but it's a little five star Bundesliga squad, which is pretty enjoyable to play with. The style is certainly much different, but it's growing on me! 99 Chemistry, which again, I can't stress the importance of enough! My CM is currently a CAM however, but I'm too lazy to spend the 5k just to have 100 chemistry. Honestly, in my opinion, as long as you have 95-100 you're pretty much set.

So... Last night I was super bored, right? Well, I decided I'd make ANOTHER squad! Gosh darn it, I'm so addicted. I went ahead and decided to make a little three star netherlandish silver squad, which I absolutely LOVE. The players aren't exactly world class, but they certainly aren't bad at all! I've played 3 games with them, going 2-1-0!

The reason I have 3 squads is because "supposedly" if you rotate them out each game, they re-build stamina which honestly? I'm all for!

Well guys, hope you enjoyed my squads, and if you haven't tried ultimate team, give it a try!

Don't forget to message me on PS3 so we can play sometime! Seeya Tuesday!

I'm officially hooked.

Yes, I realize this post is early. So what? More reading content for you guys!

So, to get things started, I'm going to talk a little about my true weakness when it comes to getting sucked into a new FIFA game. I most certainly do enjoy the game play, and the updates, and the interesting new feature(s) that held my attention for. . . Roughly 4 days (I'm talking about you, skill games). Don't get me wrong, the rest of the game is fantastic and I'm super glad I splurged and spent the $60 I did to get a copy, but the one thing that really made me want to buy it, was a little thing called Ultimate Team.

Ah yes, a simple little sub-game that consists of purchasing players with coins, trading with other players, and all-in-all trying to make the best squad you possibly can. There are essentially two ways you can go about this game. There's the "on-a-budget" way, which the vast majority of the UT community goes with, simply because they're kind of forced to, and there's the "blow all my coins on shiny things" way, which basically involves getting super lucky when opening a pack and accumulating a decent amount of coins, then spending it all on an amazing squad and being left with nothing except the squad. I'm extremely happy to say that I have been given the opportunity to go with the "blow all my coins on shiny things" method, due to a rather lucky pack opening last Tuesday night. . .

Dani-freaking-Alves, ladies and gentlemen. The Brazilian FC-Barcelona Right Back, with a current value of around 190,000 coins. I saw his name in those big beloved black letters, and, to give a rough estimate, sounded somewhat like this kid.

Yeah, I flipped out, so what? I just got around six-times what I've ever had in my ultimate team career. I sold him for 182,000, and was too happy for words. I'm currently working on putting together a decent team, so give it some time! I'll be back Thursday for another blog, so don't you guys worry.

Also! If you're on PS3, make sure to send me a message and maybe we'll play a bit together. My PSN is MeTroLoGyy, so feel free to pop me a request. I'll be glad to play mostly anyone!

FIFA 13 - A New Beginning

With the release of the newest FIFA game in the franchise, FIFA 13, already over one million people have bought the game within the first 5 days, setting what has come to be known as a FIFA franchise record. Many other companies have tried to compete with FIFA (I won't go and name any, you know who you are), but unfortunately just can't seem to overcome the overwhelming support the FIFA franchise constantly gets from it's fans, and they definitely aren't slowing down anytime soon. I was able to get my hands on a copy of FIFA 13, complete with 24 free gold-packs (Allowing the opening of one per week) in Ultimate Team, and a tin case which is actually pretty gosh-darn cool if you ask me. The packs and tin came with any copy of FIFA that was pre-ordered from Gamestop.

I played the demo for awhile a couple of weeks before the game came out, and I've gotta say, I wasn't exactly impressed. The realism of the game was definitely hard to adapt to from FIFA 12, but eventually it became pretty manageable. The new 'first touch' control makes the game feel really different, and I wasn't expecting good things.

However, my hopes were restored when I opened that beloved UPS package on September 27th, and there revealed my escape from reality for the next 12 months. I opened up the package, taking off that annoying plastic, and opened the case, revealing what I felt was going to be just another mediocre soccer game made by EA to gain mass amounts of money again like they do every year.

I put it in the PS3, and waited for what I expected to be some FIFA 12 look-a-like with just a 13 plastered on everything to make it seem newer. I scrolled over the play button, and clicked. It loaded, and I was instantly impressed with just the loading screen. Sexy shots and impressive cinematography made me want to play a little more now. I clicked start, and was even more impressed with the new look and feel of the menus and such. They looked a lot cleaner and smoother in my opinion. I went to "Seasons", selected my team, FC Bayern, and clicked start. . .

I was stunned. New graphics, new loading screens, new feels, new play-types, new everything. I was blown away. EA seriously did a fantastic job, and needless to say, I'm super ecstatic that I bought this game.

Hopefully I'll have a lot more to talk about later. I'm going to go escape reality now, so until next Thursday, I bid you all adieu. Have a good day, and God bless.
